It’s not breakfast. It’s not lunch. It’s Dinner Dinner Dinner Dinner BATMAAAAAN! Sorry. We couldn’t resist. But the truth is, far from the silly costumes and KAPOWs of the original TV series, this is where we see the darker, more conflicted side of the Caped Crusader and find out where it all started.
Christian Bale (American Psycho, The Prestige, The Machinist) follows in a long line of actors who have donned the cloak to give us their various interpretations of Bruce Wayne. Under the expert, stylish direction of Christopher Nolan, who brought us the superior backwards-mind-boggler Memento and dimension-shifting Inception, we are are invited to look beyond the costume, gadgets and gravity-defying heroics to witness the making of the man behind the mask…
Bale is joined by a fantastic supporting cast including national treasure Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy, Katie Holmes and legend Rutger Hauer.
Beautiful Bushy Park is known for its wildlife. They’ve got lots of birds – that’s why we showed Hitchcock there! They’ve probably got bats too. Just sayin.
So follow the Bat signal to Bushy Park this summer, in the enchanting grounds of the Pheasantry Centre. Masks, capes, insanely gravelly voices and underpants-over-trousers all welcome.
PLEASE NOTE: there is ABSOLUTELY NO GLASS PERMITTED at Bushy Park [or in any of The Royal Parks]. You are welcome to BYO picnic, including alcohol [in plastic bottles / cans!] and/ or enjoy the catering on site.
Please be aware that Entrance and Exit are via TEDDINGTON GATES ONLY for this screening.
