Majestic concierge Gustave H (Ralph Fiennes in fine form!) conducts life at the hotel as harmoniously as a symphony - until a bequest from a grateful guest catapults him into the front line of European unrest. Beneath the surface whimsy, this colourful caper is surprisingly ambitious and poignant, and adds yet another fantastic film to Wed Anderson’s growing list of quirky tales. As is customary with his films, actors were queuing up for a role, including the likes of Adrien Brody, Willem Defoe, Jeff Goldblum, Harvey Keitel, Jude Law, Bill Murray, Ed Norton, Saoirse Ronan, Jason Schwartzman, Lea Seydoux, Tilda Swinton, Tom Wilkinson and Owen Wilson - to name a few!
