Set in Hong Kong, 1962 and filmed with rare beauty, prepare to be transported with this melancholic tale of love and loneliness.

This is a seemingly simple story of a man and a woman who, after moving into the same cramped apartment building, realise their respective spouses are having an affair. Their relationship develops, though they are resolved not to become like their adulterous partners. This is a visually stunning exploration of the human condition, of love but also of loss and betrayal. We can think of no better setting for Wong Kar-Wai’s beautiful film than the Royal Academy of Arts, in their spacious Annenberg Courtyard. The splendour of the setting matches the finery of the film, assuring a memorable and moving evening.

Street food vendors Engine Hot Dogs and The Cheese Truck will operate from the RA courtyard offering a range of delicious hot food [including vegetarian options] for purchase.

Snacks such as ice cream and popcorn will also be available to buy, along with a variety of alcoholic beverages, teas, coffee and soft drinks. The Sipsmith Sipping Bar will be on hand to serve a range of gin based drinks and Fever-Tree soft drinks. Visitors may bring their own refreshments if they wish.

Tickets include musical entertainment before the film.
Premium tickets also include seating and a Sipsmith/ Fever-Tree G&T on arrival.
