Sleuth

Sleuth --- It's like playing Cluedo with Tom Stoppard ...
The best thriller ever written? More than that, Sleuth is a brilliant parody of the Agatha Christie whodunit, mercilessly satirizing the genre at the same time as using its technical devices to the full. It's a dramatic and subtle psychological study of the jealousy and sexual conflict between an older and a younger man. A plot whose twists and turns are breathtakingly audacious and fiendishly cunning: suspense and excitement galore.

Rich and famous Andrew Wyke, thriller-writer to the gentry, invites young businessman Milo Tindle to his mansion for a drink. There is something urgent to discuss: Milo's affair with Andrew's wife. Andrew is urbane, even cynical, about marriage, while Milo is passionate and sincere in his love for the older man's wife. Recognising this, Andrew suggests an unusual plan; a plan both dangerous and criminal. Milo's reaction starts a deadly chain of events that leaves bodies on the carpet, blood on the stairs and detectives atthe door...
