A reminder of the June production in the Theatre Studio.
A couple of weeks before this year’s Cup Final, auditions will be held for this stimulating play. Red Devils tells how four teenage girls from a north country inner-city are determined to get to Wembley to see their beloved ‘reds’ play the arch-enemy Arsenal in the 1979 Final. Nothing is going to stand in their way, whatever the cost. Are they in for triumph…or bitter disappointment?
A number of members have already expressed interest but we need a good turn-out of really accomplished young actresses to ensure the maximum return for this exciting play.
Elaine Burns will be overall Producer and Martin Lawrance Stage Manger, and the Director is Alan Wiseman. A seasoned team.
The Characters Phil, Leader of the pack and the most chauvinist and fervent supporter of ‘her’ team. Beth, Rough, tough and willing to mix it with any rival fan – or even her own side if necessary Alice, Tagging along with her mates but more intent on her latest boyfriend and looking forward only to marriage, babies and giving up any attempt to look presentable once that goal has been achieved. Nina, Born and bred in the city (Manchester? Liverpool?), daughter of an Indian doctor and completely identifying with the gang’s enthusiasms. Anyone who would like further details can contact Alan on 01932 864166.
