QUEST-ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL PLAY IN A WEEK
Hard work paid off for all those involved in the seventh Play in a Week, performed in the Main House during July. More than 40 actors and technical supporters took part in the weird and wacky production of "Quest", directed by Brandon McGuire and Edd Mott. The annual Play in a Week is a collaboration between the theatre and local groups providing skills training for people with physical, sensory and learning disabilities. Visitors from the Lockwood Centre, Guildford, The Grange Centre, Bookham and the Freewheelers from the Queen Elizabeth's Foundation in Leatherhead took part. The company had just six days to build the set, design the lighting and sound, find props and costumes and rehearse the script, written by Richard Fentiman, Bill Pearson and Brandon McGuire; with help from Brian Wilson, Andrew Marber and other members of the cast. The continuing development of the story, comparing a snooker game to the game of life, incorporated the ideas and talents of the entire company.
Helen Louise Lampard's effective choreography, and the atmospheric music directed by Richard Fentiman added to the originality of this production. The Play in a Week project was generously supported by Guildford Borough Council, Exxon Mobil, Wills and Smerdon and Arts and Business South East.

There have been several complimentary letters and emails.

"I just want to say thank you again for all your help and support with the involvement of our students in Play in a Week and the beginners' classes this year. We particularly appreciated the transport you provided - it made such a difference for us."

"Steve and I loved the Play in a Week. It was so creative and imaginative."

"Another triumph. What an evening."

"I think it is such an incredible venture."

"I much enjoyed it and look forward to doing it again next year. These things come and go so quickly but what fun they are."

"I really enjoyed Saturday night. It just seems to get better every year."

"Thank you for a wonderful week. We all had a glorious time and are well aware of all the hard work that goes on beforehand and behind the scenes. "

Congratulations to Bill, Brandon, Edd and all the actors and crew for another fantastic Play in a Week.
