Next week the theatre will buzzing all day, all week. It is Play in a Week time, indeed it is the eighth annual production. The play, entitled Forest, has been written—almost. Anita Sullivan, the author, and Brandon, who is again directing the play, are just putting the finishing touches to it. Anita has done a great job including most of the ideas the whole group have suggested. This is the first time she has written for a group like this and says she is finding it challenging! She says the audience should be prepared to be to be surprised, amused, entertained - and just a little frightened.
The musical director is James Bristow, know to most us as Jay, who has just finished the same role for the Nomes production. Helen - Louise Lampard is again our choreographer, known for the excellent dance shows she has put on with the Lockwood Day Centre.
A cast of twenty and a group of musicians and singers have been chosen - from all the local organisations that have worked with us over recent years; plenty of other Nomads are going to be involved. The organisations involved include people from the Freewheelers Theatre Company, Seeability, The Grange Centre, the Discovery Group, Lockwood and Harbour Day Centres.
This production is being presented in memory of long time Nomad Debbie Danaher who was involved in many previous Plays in a Week and who was with Seeability for a number of years. Her partner of many years, Ray Wallis, is one of the sponsors of the show.
The show starts at 8pm on the Saturday, 22nd July and members of the box office team will be at the theatre on 01483 284747 between 10.45 am to 3.15 pm next Wednesday and Friday, as well as Saturday morning. Tickets are £5 |
