Social Evenings - Tuesdays 8pm
Don’t forget the Tuesday evening open evenings in the bar. Due to the hard work and enthusiasm of Helen Longes and the team, much more is happening. The first of the specialised nights was a Shakespeare Evening on the 22nd April, with contributions from many and covering readings (sometimes from memory) of some sonnets, Helen’s quiz, which revealed our lack of knowledge of the greatest writer (even expert Andrew Hamel-Cooke was beaten by some of the questions), a news broadcast by the bard and Alan Wiseman’s attempt to speak the whole of Shakespeare’s longest speech in under two minutes (he failed). The themes for the next two weeks are:
20th May: Games Night
Cards, Dominoes, Jenga, Cranium and Dictionary
27th May: Play Reading
The first of a series for directors and budding authors.
