Season‘s Greetings written in 1980 is regarded as an Ayckbourn classic. Ayckbourn said ”Christmas was a gift to a dramatist. You‘re always looking for a reason to stick a group of people together who can‘t stand each other………….what better time than Christmas.• Director Jeff Wightwick says this is one of his favourite plays to see and to direct.

Neville and Belinda Bunker invite relatives and friends to their house for Christmas. Over three days the insecurities, tensions and frustrations of the family are revealed. Petty and not so petty squabbles break out, presents are rifled. An incompetent puppet show descends into chaos and a midnight love scene becomes farce as noisy mechanical toys are set off.

The hideous puppet show is based on Ayckbourn‘s own attempt to amuse his sons one Christmas.

Cleverly the children in the play are never seen but only heard while it is the grown ups of course who regress into childhood.

Members of the audience will have the chance to win the drumming teddy bear, one of the mechanical toys featured. He has been bought from Hamleys, and there will be a raffle for this mini star of the show.

Tickets are £12.00 with a special price of £9.00 on Tuesday 19th.

    The Cast are:

    Neville Richard Peachey
    Belinda (his wife) Helen Teasdale
    Phyllis (his sister) Gilly Fick
    Harvey (his uncle) John Norris
    Bernard (Phyllis’s husband) Paul Asher
    Rachel (Belinda’s sister) Mary Parsons
    Eddie Andrew Hamel-Cooke
    Pattie (Eddie’s wife) Klaire Atkinson
    Clive Richard Williams

We’re pleased to welcome three new members to The Nomads, Helen, Klaire and Richard; we hope they enjoy working with us as much as we enjoy having them in the cast. Rehearsals are going well and we’re all having fun, IT’S GOING TO BE A GREAT SHOW.
