Author's Note: Aladdin is the best known story from the Arabian classic. A Thousand and One Nights. The tale of a boy who goes from rags to riches was first performed as a pantomime in 1788, at the Theatre Royal, Covent Garden, since when it has become one of the best-loved of all pantos. The Nomads Aladdin has all the favourite characters that have appeared in it over the years - Widow Twankey, Wishee-Washee, the comic policeman - in a fresh new version that sweeps its audience from China to the North Pole to a lively musical accompaniment.
