Official Review:
the review
On two evenings in March, Nomads' audiences were entertained by the Freewheelers' production of The Musicians. Written by acclaimed play-wright Patrick Marber, the play told the story of an amateur orchestra who had arrived in Russia to give a concert, only to find that their instruments had been seized by customs officials. This was a big disappointment to Alex, the Russian cleaner of the hall in which the concert was to have been performed, as he had never seen an orchestra play live before, and his knowledge of popular British culture was limited to The Who classic, Pinball Wizard! The play is resolved in a rousing and very funny finale. I won't give away the ending: the play will be performed at the forthcoming Leatherhead Drama Festival and I urge those of you-who didn't catch it at the Nomads to get along to the festival and see it for yourselves.

Congratulations to director Viv Colville and her talented cast for a terrific evening. And thank you to the Freewheelers for their excellent contribution to the Nomad Theatre programme.
