Theatre Manager

Role:
Theatre Manager

We’re looking for someone (or two people, possibly) to be a key contact on-site for our fantastic theatre. The Theatre Manager is primarily responsible for the essential front-line organisation of the booking of the theatre spaces - the studio/rehearsal room, the auditorium and Greenroom for audition, rehearsal, workshop, Nome classes and other appropriate purposes. They will also be responsible for supervising the security, tidiness and cleanliness of the building and grounds.

This person will be supported by a Theatre Management team comprised of no fewer than two other members. They will meet at regular intervals to ensure that the requirements of the TM role are being fully met and that the working of the theatre runs as efficiently as possible. The team will also be supported by many other volunteers who already currently work hard to maintain and improve the theatre and the group.

General activities

  • Manage the bookings for each of our theatre spaces, keeping the box office/marketing teams and group calendar up to date and liaising with affiliate groups as well as updating the Council on activity on a monthly basis
  • Manage security such as swipe cards, key holders and alarm system maintenance/response
  • Maintain a cleaning rota, stocks of supplies and budget
  • Maintain the interior and grounds of the theatre including organisation of “deep cleans”

This role is is an electable Council role and thereby accountable to the membership - the person may be co-opted by the council outside of the annual elections. To take on the role, you’ll need to be a member - find out more about membership here.
