The Young Nomads present ‘Find me’, a play in one act.
We regret that this production has had to be postponed until March.
More details later
At the age of twenty, Verity Taylor was charged by the police with damaging a chair by fire in the mental hospital where she was a patient. Later she was committed to Broadmoor “from where she may not be discharged or transferred elsewhere without the permission of the Home Secretary”.
Using a technique of multiple characterisation, the play seeks to investigate in depth the personality of a young girl, to ‘find’ her and at the same time studies the effects of her behaviour on the family, the friends and the officials in whose care she is periodically placed.
The Young Nomads have worked hard at understand and bringing to life this challenging and interesting piece of theatre and the results speak for themselves. It is one thing to know about children with psychological difficulties, it is quite another thing to experience one of those children first hand. The Young Nomads have had to really come out of themselves and be fearless in becoming the complex and struggling characters that make up this very informative and entertaining play
The Young Nomads hope to see you there!
